SCS committee meets to discuss school buildings

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A Shelby County School board committee will meet on Wednesday with Germantown officials to discuss the issue of school buildings.

Shelby County Board Member Billy Orgel provided some answers to parents from the South Cordova area on Tuesday night and more answers could come from Wednesday's meeting.

Several of the students from that area attend Riverdale, which will eventually become part of the Germantown municipal school district. That means those students could possibly transfer to Mt. Pisgah, which is part of the Shelby County School system.

Orgel says a long term fix is in the works. The SCS board is working with Germantown leaders on a short term solution that everyone can agree on.

Work on that plan could start soon. We'll let you know what happens from the Wednesday committee meeting on Action News 5 at 5.
