MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Three men who are accused of trying to rob a Mt. Moriah doughnut shop made one big tactical error. They did not factor in Sokha Chin.

Chin left Cambodia when she was 8 years old. She spent eight years in a refugee camp. She came to America and spent a lifetime working in other doughnut shops until she owned her own.

These three guys with guns were no match for her.

On Wednesday, a man walked into the shop and ordered a doughnut. Police say he was acting as a diversion because seconds later two other men walked in, one of whom was pointing a gun, and demanded all the money from the cash register.

Instead of giving them money, Chin grabbed a can of pepper spray she keeps hidden near the register and sprayed the men in their faces until they ran off.

The entire incident was caught on camera. At this point, two of the three men are locked up at 201 Poplar.

Timothy Dunavant is charged attempted aggravated robbery. His bond has been set at $30,000. Larry Douglas is also charged with attempted aggravated robbery. His bond has been set at $25,000.

"We want to build customers the best we can, and we work so hard for our money," said Chin.

She still keeps the pepper spray handy to protect her business.
