Town hall meetings educate Mid-Southerners about possible health plan changes

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) – Some Mid-Southerners may have to change their health plans as part of the Affordable Care Act. Nearly 70,000 people, in Tennessee alone under Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance may have to switch plans.

The company is sending out letters to people whose plans don't align with Affordable Care Act policies.

If you get a letter, you need to choose a replacement insurance plan so you don't have a lapse in coverage.

You can get answers about health insurance enrollment on Tuesday. Get Covered Memphis will host a health insurance marketplace town hall at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Library on Poplar.

If you can't make Tuesday night's meeting, another one is set for 5:30 Thursday night at Golden Gate Cathedral on James Road.
