MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Chris Jones, the Mid-South man accused of murdering his wife and dumping her body along Highway 64, will face a judge on Monday.

Jones is locked up at the Shelby County Criminal Justice Complex, unable to make the $1 million bond set in his second degree murder case.

His wife, Heather Palumbo Jones was described as a loved teacher, friend and mother. Her murder shocked the Mid-South.

Jones has pleaded not guilty to the charge of killing his wife.

Her burned body was found dumped alongside Highway 64 near the Fayette-Shelby county line. She was found wrapped in an air mattress in mid-April, about a week after she disappeared.

An autopsy report revealed Heather died of asphyxia.

Action News 5 will be in the courtroom and will have all the details of what happens in court later today.
