(WMC-TV) - It is the holidays when we embrace an attitude of gratitude for all our blessings, but for many shoppers Thanksgiving is early Black Friday.

People began pouring into stores in the Wolfchase area as early as 5 p.m. on the holiday itself.

Other stores will be open later Thursday while some stores have been open all day.

Memphis's lone K-Mart on Austin Peay opened at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving day, which is much to the delight of shoppers like Rebecca Staten.

"I got an air mattress ... It was $10 ... A $15 savings," she said.

She's thankful for expanded holiday shopping hours.

"Cause I always have to work on the day after. So I can get my sales now then go to work," she said.

There were no early hours at Best Buy, which meant the best bet for these bargain hunters was to get in line.

"I'm tired, I'm starving, I'm cold, I'm hungry even though I just ate. It's worth it," said shopper Robert Akines.

For many, this is not a hassle, but something as traditional as turkey and dressing.

"A lot of us that don't have family here, this is our Black Friday family," said shopper Stephanie Rankin, who is camped outside.

Also, there is always "Cyber Monday." Many stores are offering online deals not only on Monday but Sunday as well.
