Power still being restored after winter storms

POINSETT COUNTY, AR -

(WMC-TV) - Electric crews are working overtime to restore power in Memphis and parts of Arkansas.

Hundreds of people are without power in Memphis, with the majority of those being in the Germantown area. Earlier Sunday, that number was in the thousands. The cause appears to be weather related, with ice causing tree limbs to fall on power lines and equipment.

More than 1,000 people were in the dark at the peak of the storm in Poinsett County and Mississippi County.

By Sunday morning, power had been restored to all but about 200 customers.

"We've experience a lot more broken poles and broken cross arms that have to be replaced and it has just slowed our progress down. We'll be right back at it first thing in the morning again," said David Burnette, Entergy Arkansas, Inc.

If you know of any outages, Entergy is asking you to call 1-800-9-OUTAGES to report them.
