WALLS, MS -

(WMC-TV) - The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office meth lab team helped remove a "shake and bake" meth lab from a Walls Police Department vehicle Tuesday.

Crews immediately decontaminated the then-active meth lab from the back of a Walls police Bronco.

During a traffic stop and search, a police officer found the suspected meth lab. His chief said the officer put everything he found in his own squad vehicle before taking it back to the police department that sits right across from an elementary school.

"As far as transporting, was that safe? No it wasn't. It wasn't. It should have, at the time where he made the traffic stop at, that's where it should have been secured at right there," said Walls Police Chief Reginald Harris.

No one was hurt.

The three people that were in the first car gave consent for Walls police to search the car.
