MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Three rewards, totaling $3,000, are being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who murdered a Memphis taxi cab driver last week.

Zewdneh Assemu, 43, was found dead in a Fayette County field near Highway 196 North on December 6. He had been beaten and stabbed to death.

Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. In addition, Metro Cab and Yellow Cab are also each offering a $1,000 reward. That brings the total reward to $3,000.

The cab Assemu was driving was also found near the scene, with a few of his personal belongings.

He was found after his wife reported him missing that same day.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the murder.
