MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Holidays are all about spending quality time with those we love, but with all the gifts we're already buying them, it's nice when you can go and do something free together.

Sunday, December 15, is Winterfest at the Brooks Museum from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

There will be hands on arts and crafts activities, ornament making, winter themed gallery guides, and a screening of Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas. Carriage rides will also be available for $15.

Saturday, December 14, is Family Day at the Cotton Museum located at 65 Union Avenue from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This event is tailored for kids and parents with face painting, balloon animals, sing-a-longs, festive snacks and drinks. Santa himself is also scheduled to make an appearance!

Here's a really easy way to get money for free. Look around your house for used flower vases.

The kind you'd get with a flower arrangement. Take them to Pugh's Flowers where they will pay you $1 per vase up to $20. The money will be put on a store gift card which you can use on yourself or on a Christmas gift. There is no expiration date for the store gift card.
