MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A fire took out a house on Michigan Street and South Parkway.

A firefighter on the scene reported that it appears a homeless person was living in the house.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the fire.

About 10 minutes later, heavy flames destroyed a second home in Memphis.

Firefighters battled flames around 4:30 a.m. on the 5100 block of Greylock Cove, between East Shelby Drive and East Holmes Road.

The fire destroyed the roof of the house, but nobody was injured.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire.
