A sticky situation has a Central Texas school district investigating a music teacher.

The teacher is accused of forcing two students to chew used gum as punishment. According to the district, the students were chewing gum in class, which is against the rules.

They say the teacher told the students to spit their gum into a jar on her desk and then pull out another piece of used gum and chew it instead.

Pascual Gonzalez, NISD spokesperson, said he believes the situation is wrong.

"It's pretty disgusting that a teacher would impose this kind of a consequence on students," Gonzales said.

The district has put the teacher on paid leave. Further punishment will depend on what the district's investigation reveals.
