MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Two arrests were made shortly after Memphis Police Department released surveillance footage of the man suspected of killing a pawn shop owner during a robbery.

Charles Griffin is accused of firing the shots that killed Virak Hean at Lamar Jewelry and Pawn around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Christopher Woodland is accused of driving the getaway car.

According to a police affidavit, Griffin walked into the pawn shop with a red bag over his shoulder, pointed a gun at Hean and fired two shots into his chest. He then jumped over the counter, stepped over Hean, and took items from the store. The suspect's actions were all caught on the surveillance video.

A witness outside of the pawn shop watched as the suspect got into the passenger side of a red four-door Pontiac Grand Am. Police say it was Christopher Woodland who was driving the car.

After the surveillance video was released to media, the robbery suspect was identified as Charles Griffin. He reportedly waived his rights and admitted to participating in the robbery and shooting Hean. Woodland also waived his rights and told police that he drove the car, then burned it to destroy evidence. He said he received money from the pawn shop robbery.

Griffin is due in court December 23. He is charged with first degree murder in perpetration of a robbery. Woodland is due in court Friday. He is charged with accessory after the fact.
