Millington School Board selects first superintendent Friday evening

MILLINGTON, TENNESSEE -

(WMC-TV) – Millington has selected Dr. David Roper as its first superintendent during a special called meeting Friday evening.

Dr. David Roper is a former superintendent in Birmingham, Alabama. He is now an education professor at Middle Tennessee State University.

The new system will have anywhere from 2,200 to 2,300 students.

Millington makes the fourth Shelby County municipality to select a superintendent for its school system.
