TIPTON COUNTY, TN -

(WMC-TV) – The Shelby County Sheriff's Office's bomb squad was called to the scene of a house in which something resembling a grenade was found in Tipton County. The Tipton County Sheriff's Department was also at the scene.

The house, which was undergoing renovation, is located on the 1000 block of Dolan Road in Drummonds, TN. A worker renovating the home found the device.

The Bomb Unit determined that the device was a live hand grenade and it was taken into custody for proper disposal. No one was injured during the incident.

Tipton County Sheriff Pancho Chumley said, "The workers did the right thing in notifying authorities when they discovered the device. I am thankful no one was hurt in the incident. I appreciate the assistance of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Bomb Unit specialists at the scene and proper disposal of the device."
