MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Authorities were busy on Mid-South interstates Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning, working two separate incidents.

Traffic is clear on I-40 Westbound at Warford Thursday morning after a fuel leak on the interstate around 9:30 Wednesday night.

More than 100 gallons of fuel spilled from a semi-truck's saddle tanks. Haz-mat crews cleared the area and traffic is moving as normal.

Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, a white, late-model Chevy Silverado somehow ended up wrapped around a pole on Interstate 55 just south of I-240.

Authorities say that the victim of this crash was an off-duty Memphis Police Department officer.
