(WMC-TV) - Friends fear an elderly woman was attacked after her car went missing. Southaven police are still trying to find the person responsible.

"It breaks my heart, it really does," said Rawley Cain holding back tears as he thinks about what happened to his close friend Georgie McKee, known to everyone as Ms. Georgia.

"She's 86 now. Weighs about 75, 80 pounds. Real small person, but has a heart as big as the world."

On the last day of 2013, Ms. Georgia looked in the mirror and saw a black eye, several bruises and scratches and called Cain for help. When a nearby friend got to the Garden Walk home they found her doors unlocked, her car gone, and a frightening scene inside.

"There was blood on countertops, cabinets, and on the floor," said Cain.

Police are looking into every possibility, but Ms. Georgia had trouble recalling what happened. Cain thinks she was beaten and left for dead.

"They tried to cut her throat ... And she was bleeding there," said Cain.

Cain sings in a band called Delta Blue, and Ms. Georgia has been a devoted follower and friend for more than a decade. They are so close that Ms. Georgia schedules shows for the band and feels part of the group.

Now he's pleading for the public's help connecting the dots.

Tips and locating the missing vehicle will be key in solving this case. Police are looking for a silver 2003 Chevrolet Impala with a handicap tag of E271D.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 662-429-8477.
