Valdosta, Lowndes Co. schools receive donation from credit union

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta elementary school and a Lowndes County middle school now have some extra paper to start off the semester.

Members of the Southeastern Federal Credit Union in Valdosta delivered 25 cases of printer paper to J. L. Lomax Elementary School and Pine View Middle School on Monday.

At the donation at J. L. Lomax Elementary, the credit union's CEO and the school's principal both said this is an important donation.

"We feel like it's important to give back to the community," said Mike Gudely, President and CEO of Southeastern Federal Credit Union. "All of us really appreciate all the hard work that the teachers, principals and the administrators do to make this a vibrant school system."

"Our budgets have been cut, as you all know, and we always need paper to run things for our students," said Pam King, Principal at J. L. Lomax Elementary.

The credit union, which is based in Valdosta, also donated 25 cases of paper to four other schools for a grand total of 125 cases donated.
