MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The man who witnesses say was shot four times in front of his 2-year-old daughter has been identified by police.

Tremaine Artry, 22, was found dead in the front yard of a home on Pope Street Monday afternoon.

According to police, Artry got into an argument with a person driving a blue Ford Mustang. The driver fled after firing the shots that killed Artry.

Witnesses told police the shooting started out as a robbery.

"His little 2-year-old daughter was in the car, he was a good dude," said Mario Johnson, who lives next door. "He been good to everybody in the neighborhood. I don't know why somebody would do something like that."
