MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Police charged a man with aggravated robbery after a Kay Jewelers at Oak Court Mall was reportedly robbed Monday afternoon.

According to officials, a man entered the store and was armed with a gun. He reportedly took several items and then ran away.

A police helicopter, K-9 officers, and uniformed officers were all called to the scene.

Shortly after the robbery, two officers saw a man matching the description of the suspect running through Cancer Survivors Park.

Marcus Taylor, 23, was eventually found hiding beside a house on Perkins Road, near Park Avenue.

Police say he got away with seven rings, but only two were found on him.

The merchandise stolen from the store was recovered by police. Taylor was charged with aggravated robbery later Monday afternoon.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.

The entrance of the mall near Kay Jewelers was closed after the incident, but shoppers were allowed in at all other entrances.

"I just don't know what to think," said Oak Court Mall shopper Keva McCondichie. "Crime is just everywhere."

Many people in and around the area had no idea a robbery had taken place.
