Free resources help Mid-Southerners file 2013 taxes

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – The 2013 tax filing season is almost here. Taxpayers have two and a half months to file and there are several free resources across the Mid-South to help.

Tax season doesn't have to be a reason for panic. There is time and a lot of people willing to help, for free!

The first day of filing is Friday, January 31 and Wednesday the Binghampton Development Corporation wants Memphians to know they are a great resource for assistance.

Every Monday and Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. volunteers will be at the BDC Outreach Center at 280 Tillman Street providing one-on-one assistance to take all the stress out of the process.

In fact, there are over 40 locations across Memphis where you can get help filing your taxes for free.

There is no reason to pay someone to file your taxes unless you want to. If you don't need assistance and make under $58,000 a year, the IRS website can be used to file for free.

You work hard for your money, so don't spend more of it on services you don't need.
