Ethic complaints dropped against Shelby Co. commissioner

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - Ethic complaints have been dropped against a Shelby Co. commissioner, who was accused by his fellow commissioners of using his power to help his own personal business.

Commissioner Terry Roland accused Sidney Chism of voting on Head Start funding to benefit his day care in July.

A panel claims Chism never made it publicly known that he and his wife owned a day care that would receive the funds. His attorney claims he never had to expose his business because commissioners knew he owned a day care.
