K-9 unit helps catch dollar store robbery suspect

PRICEVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Decatur man is in jail, accused of robbing a Family Dollar store.

Police said the man robbed the Family Dollar on Highway 67, Thursday night. After getting a description of the man, authorities began to search for him with the help of a K-9 unit.

The dog located him about an hour later hiding in a brushy area across from Priceville High School. The man refused to surrender but was apprehended by the dog.

Nathan Levi Wallace was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital to be treated for his injuries and then transported to the Morgan County Jail.

Wallace was charged with first-degree robbery, resisting arrest and assault a police K-9.
