LAUDERDALE COUNTY, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Amanda Springer and her three daughters were killed when their Gates, Tenn. rental home caught fire two weeks ago. Now, her best friend is organizing a fundraiser in the family's memory.

Springer, 26, and her 5-year-old daughter Abby, and her 4-year-old twins Jordan and Payton were buried Monday. The home they rented had no smoke detectors.

"Its been a tough week for everybody," said Springer's best friend, Mallory Roberson. "There's just been a black cloud hanging over Halls, but it's amazing how the community here has come together."

Roberson and others are passing fliers out all around Lauderdale County.

"We'll take donations at the door to get in," said Roberson. "We'll sell food, there will be barbecue, hot dogs, a bake sale. We're gonna raffle a rifle."

Friends say the funds will be used to pay any remaining balance on the burial and tombstones. Anything left over will be split between both sides of Springer's family.

A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where Springer worked as a medical technician.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday, February 1, at the Lauderdale County Emergency Squad Building at 6501 Curve-Nankipoo Road in Halls, Tenn.

The event starts at 4 p.m. and will go until 10 p.m. It is open to the public.
