(WMC-TV) – Sebastian Pegues, 23, has been convicted of first-degree murder for the 2012 death of his 3-month-old daughter, according to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office.

Baby Kalissa died June 25, 2012, from internal bleeding, cracked ribs and severe liver damage. The beating happened in a home located in the 1000 block of South Greer, near Park Avenue and Highland Street.

The DA's office also stated that doctors saw evidence of long-term abuse.
