LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A fatal crash early Saturday morning claimed a life in Limestone County.

The wreck happened on Old Highway 20, about a quarter-mile east of Mooresville Road, around 3:30 a.m.

According to authorities, a white Ford Ranger crashed into a bridge and caught fire. Authorities said the driver died after being trapped inside as the truck burned. Emergency workers had to cut the victim out of the truck.

State police are investigating the deadly wreck. They said the body is so badly burned that identifying the victim will be difficult.
