Drummonds, Tennessee -
(WMC-TV) - Southwest Tennessee Electric has called in four additional crews from other areas to assist with a power outage in Drummonds, Tenn.

At its peak, crews worked more than 10,000 outages in this week's storm. As of Wednesday night roughly 1,000 outages were still active.

Many families are dealing with no power in the freezing cold and downed trees taking over their yards.

"They can spend the night if power goes our here. We have an emergency generator we can still have basic function," said Glenn Beard, Director of Munford Parks and Recreation.

Beard says they are keeping a warming center open at the Munford Parks and Recreation Center for residents who need shelter until conditions improve.

Beard noted that some of the electrical issues in the community could not be immediately resolved due to the amount of ice that has accumulated on breakers.
