Lakeland officials fired in attempt to reduce personnel cost

LAKELAND, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Three more Lakeland officials were fired this week, and the city mayor, Wyatt Bunker, says in the next two years more cuts in personnel and operations can be expected.

The city's manager made the decision to cut the former interim city manager, the emergency management director, and a parks and recreation coordinator. 

Bunker's goal is to reduce Lakeland's personnel cost from about to $1.77 million to under $1 million in a two-year period.
