(WMC-TV) - The Shelby County Office of Preparedness will not take any chances the next 24 hours in anticipation of a wintry mix.

Office of preparedness Director Bob Nations says his team continues to watch the forecast and keep in close contact with the National Weather Service Tuesday.

"Since 3 o'clock [Tuesday] morning my folks have been entrenched in looking at all of these models. You know, extracting information because we'll have to make some judgment calls between this afternoon and daybreak," said Nations

Nations says the policy is simple: be prepared no matter what, even if the area gets less precipitation than expected. Disaster preparedness training carried on at their command center in East Memphis.

Meanwhile, MLGW asks their customers to keep in contact with them through their website and social media, including Twitter.
