Two weather-related deaths reported to Miss. Emergency Management Agency

(WMC-TV) - Two weather-related traffic deaths have been reported to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.

A one-vehicle accident happened on MS 35. David Walton, 65, hit an icy patch and his vehicle overturned several times.

The separate, second fatal accident occurred on US 82 at Lee Stokes Road. Tara Pugh, 37, was ejected from her vehicle, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

"Deborah and I extend our thoughts and prayers to the families of those who lost their lives during this winter storm," said Gov. Phil Bryant in a news release. "I urge Mississippians to stay aware of changing weather conditions and to stay off of roadways in impacted areas if possible."
