(WMC-TV) - Deputies arrested a felon after they responded to a complaint and found 70 wolf hybrids, multiple roosters, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, cats, and several horses.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent the complaint to Tipton County officials. All animals were healthy, fed and lived in adequate housing and pens provided as shelter, according to the Tipton County Sheriff's Office.

Mike Parsons, 52, was found to be in compliance with state law and Tipton County Animal Control regulations, but he was arrested at 444 Hughes Road in Brighton for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators and detectives recovered a Remington 700 .308 rifle with scope, a loaded Smith and Wesson 357 revolver, magazines for an AR-15, over 850 rounds of ammunition for various calibers of weapons including .22, .308 and 357, and a bayonet for an AR-15.

Parsons remains in custody awaiting his arraignment in Tipton County General Sessions Court.
