MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - An inmate from Shelby County Corrections Center is missing after walking away from work detail in Memphis Monday.

Cory Dean, 26, reportedly left his job at Franklin Sports, where 12 inmates are supposed to prepare orders for shipping. Dean met certain qualifications to be permitted to work at the facility.

He is serving a three year sentence for being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Dean is 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds, and has short hair. He also has tattoos on both arms. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with the letters SCDC in yellow across the back, along with a navy jean jacket.
