SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man police had been urgently seeking following a series of threats made against a Bullitt County Schools employee has been captured.

Superintendent Keith Davis said the district learned at 4 p.m. on Wednesday that 43-year-old Randall Carman had been taken into custody. Police had described him as "dangerous."

Carman is accused of calling Bullitt Alternative Center multiple times on Tuesday and threatening a specific staff member. Davis said the calls were personal in nature and were not related to the school or events at the school. He described it as a "domestic situation."

"At no time did any events ever occur on campus, and no students were ever in danger," Davis said.

Nevertheless, the school campus and the adjacent Bullitt Central High School and Bullitt County Area Technology Center were placed on "soft lockdown" during the investigation on Tuesday. Davis said a soft lockdown means that instructors continue to teach in classrooms, but doors are closed and locked and no visitors are allowed to enter or leave the buildings. Students were dismissed as normal. Davis said appropriate security measures are in place.

On Wednesday, Davis added, Bullitt Alternative Center went on a brief precautionary hard lockdown because a vehicle that looked like Carman's was spotted in the area.

Multiple warrants and an emergency protective order had been issued against Carman, according to police.
