GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 63-year-old Carriere man accused of defrauding the Social Security Administration while he worked at a state welcome center has been sentenced to prison and ordered to repay over $114,000.
U.S. District Court Judge Sul Ozerden sentenced Alan Paul Blache on Monday.
The judge also gave Blache five months of home confinement and three years of probation for a guilty plea to the theft of government funds.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1gyYVFI ) Brache was charged in a bill of information Nov. 13 and pleaded guilty Dec. 2.
Federal prosecutors said Blache knowingly defrauded the Social Security Disability Insurance benefits program. While receiving benefits, he used his name and social security number to work as a security guard at the welcome center in Pearl River County.
