Workers remember those killed at DSC Logistics

Updated:

Worker Amy Williams saw the damage done at DSC Logistics for the first time Wednesday. A pile of rubble is all that remains of what used to be offices, cubicles, and a break room.

"I had no idea this was like this," Williams said.

Williams said she left just minutes before the tornado hit.

When it did hit, it collapsed the warehouse's roof, taking the lives of three of her co-workers. Co-workers she had just laughed with moments before.

"I heard this morning they were gone," Williams said.

The victims were identified late Wednesday afternoon as Gregory L. Martin, 38, Leon Herbin, 23, and Marlys May Peske, 60.

Thirteen others were taken to the hospital, two in critical condition.

"I'm just trying to get all of this to sink in, exactly what happened.  I'm in shock really," Williams said.

About a half dozen cars were still parked in DCS's parking lot Wednesday. They were banged up, torn up, and smashed up from the storm.

DCS Logistics released the following statement Wednesday afternoon.

"Out of respect for our logistics family members who lost their lives, we are asking all of our centers throughout the country to fly their flags at half mast for the next 30 days."
