Eyewitnesses recall tornadoes

Updated:

Whether survivors said what happened in English or Spanish, their eyewitness accounts will send chills up your spine.

"So it was pulling us sucking us out of the closet. She she held onto the door and I held onto her so you might as well say we was just holding on to God and hoping that you know that if we haven't been living right just give us a chance to live," Jerome Brent said.

Brent said he and his girlfriend heard Dave Brown's tornado warning and jumped into a closet.  Afterward his Briar Club apartment complex looked like a bomb hit it.

Neighbor Manuel Vasquez thought one did...

"Last night the storm is coming real hard and then the two by fours...my friend...it goes through my glass," Vasquez said.

Now his van looks like many others in the parking lot with broken glass and other damage from the tornado's fierce winds.

"Man...you see this right here...you see all this stuff? This stuff was up in the air like toys man. It was like it wasn't even no gravity. Everything was levitated," Brent said.
