Community comes together for Lester Street victims

Updated:

Wednesday night,  people of different colors and creeds from across the city came together for the Lester Street victims and urged everyone stand up and fight back against crime.

Singing praises of faith and sending a message of hope -- to hundreds of mid-southerners in attendance .

"Black and white and brown, we've come together. Catholics and protestants, Christians and Jews. From the east and the west, from Boxtown to Germantown," Kenneth Robinson of St. Andrew AME church said.

A community mourning the loss on Lester and looking towards a higher power and one another to help combat crime in the Bluff city.

"We must pray as if everything depends on God but act as if everything depends on us," Micah Greenstein of Temple Israel said.

A night  to remember what happened March 3 and a call for action to people who left Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church.
