Every restaurant manager echoes the same refrain: The health inspector always arrives at the worst possible time.
Tony Gonzalez says that's what happened this week at his El Charro Mexican Restaurant, 109 Northwest Plaza off Highway 51 in Senatobia, MS.
"It was right after lunch, and, you know, everything was kind of hectic, and we were getting a few deliveries at the same time," says Gonzalez.
The Mississippi Health Department's inspector gave El Charro a "C." The report cites a scoop left in a sugar container, lids missing from sauce bins and a weak sanitizer solution.
The report indicates Gonzalez went right to work and corrected everything on the spot before the inspector left the premises. When I was there, people were filing in for lunch and singing the praises of Gonzalez's staff and food.
Gotta hate bad timing!
